Governor’s Cup Competition Kicks Off January 24

On Thursday, January 25 and Saturday, January 27 over 9000 Kentucky students in grades 6-8 will gather at 93 sites across the Commonwealth for the 23rd annual Governor’s Cup academic competition, administered by the Kentucky Association for Academic Competition. High School Governor's Cup academic teams begin play January 31, and Elementary teams begin February 26.

Governor's Cup events include five Written Assessment exams, Composition, Future Problem Solving and Quick Recall, the only event open to the public. The Quick Recall event begins at 10:30 prevailing local time.

The top five contestants in each Written Assessment event and in Composition, and the top two Quick Recall and Future Problem Solving advance to Regional competitions. Middle Grades and High School Regional winners advance to the Kentucky Academic Championships, March 15-17 in Louisville, sponsored by Ashland Inc.
