What are the events in Governor's Cup?
There are five written assessments: Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Arts and Humanities. Written assessments are multiple-choice examinations.  Composition is the sixth individual event.  There are also two team events, Quick Recall and Future Problem Solving. Both Quick Recall teams and FPS teams consist of four students.

Who will I be competing against and when will I find out where my Governor's Cup will be held?
KAAC sends out hosting notices after the October 1 membership deadline passes. When sites are confirmed, you will receive a printout showing your district and regional host sites and who is in your Governor's Cup district. This is usually in early December.

How much are the fees to participate in Governor’s Cup?
Elementary fees are $225, Middle Grades and High School fees are $325.

What time is Future Problem Solving?
The coaches attending the district or regional Competition Planning Meeting decide the starting time for FPS (and, in the Middle Grades and High School divisions, Composition).  These events must be held after the school day, allowing for travel time between schools, unless ALL participating schools agree to come earlier.

Who may serve as officials?
Anyone, but there are certain rules about who may officiate in what capacity. High school students may perform any duty on the elementary level except judge and chief official. Immediate relatives of team members may not officiate in an event in which the team member participates. Coaches may proctor exams but shouldn't be placed in an evaluative position.  For more information, refer to the Governor's Cup Coaches' Manual.
