The Future Problem Solving Program (FPSP) is a nationally recognized, award winning program founded by Dr. E. Paul Torrance. The program seeks to increase an awareness for the future and encourage creativity in students of all ages. The Kentucky Association for Academic Competition (KAAC) serves as the Affiliate Program for the International FPSP in Kentucky.

Governor's Cup FPS
Team FPS is offered as part of the Governor's Cup academic competition.

Because students are the beneficiaries of this program, KAAC requires that the FPS coach know both the nuances of the FPS process and the rules of FPS evaluation by being certified at one of the many FPS Training Clinics held across the state.  FPS teams need appropriate guidance by a knowledgeable coach. The coach can be a teacher, aide, administrator, parent, or other interested adult.

FPS Component Events
There's more to FPS than just Governor's Cup team FPS, however. KAAC also offers the following FPS Component Events:

Community Problem Solving    Scenario Writing

Junior Division
     Individual FPS
