| The Kentucky Association for Academic Competition sponsors a Junior Division in Future Problem Solving for students in grades 4-6. Junior Division FPS is a component of the International Future Problem Solving Program. Junior team FPS is offered as a separate competition and is not a part of Governor's Cup Competition. | ||||

| A team of students in grades 4-6 may participate in the Junior Division component of FPS. | ||||
| WHEN will the event occur? | ||||
| Qualifying Competition: December 4, 2008 at sites to be determined. Schools may volunteer to host the qualifying competition for local schools in your area. Governor's Cup Competition format will be used. | ||||
| State competition is scheduled for Saturday March 16, 2009 during the Gov. Cup State Finals in Louisville. | ||||

| WHAT is required? | ||||
| The registration fee is $50 for the first team and $25 for each additional team a school registers. | ||||
| WHY offer Junior Division Competition? | ||||
| To
recognize the outstanding problem solving ability among students in grades
4-6. To qualify for participation in the FPSP International Conference. |

| WHEN is evaluation? | ||||
| Booklets for the qualifying competition are evaluated by FPS trainers and evaluators provided by each participating school; students will be notified of the results in about three weeks. State booklets will be evaluated on site during the State Finals. The top two teams are invited to the FPSP International Conference. | ||||
