High School Camp

June 13-16, 2017
Bellarmine University, Louisville

This camp is designed to foster Governor’s Cup–and classroom–success. It will feature instruction in Quick Recall, Written Assessment and Future Problem Solving. Campers arrive on Tuesday morning and depart Friday afternoon.

Staffmedal

Staff includes the top academic team coaches in Kentucky. A complete staff roster will be posted when finalized.

Curriculum

Course offerings may change with demand. The registration form will always be the most up-to-date. Campers may choose from one of these three academic tracks:

  • Track 1 – three subject area courses
  • Track 2 – FPS and 1 course (must come from Course 3 list below)
  • Track 3 – FPS Only

Fees

The fee is $385 per camper. KAAC must receive full payment by May 15. Failure to meet this guideline will result in the forfeiture of your camp reservation. Reservations are considered complete when full payment and the liability form are received.

Course 1

  • Arts & Humanities Architecture
  • Language Arts British, European and Russian Literature (1600-1900)
  • Science Chemistry: Process, Reactions, Nuclear, Atomic, Modern
  • Social Studies US History 1865 to 1919
  • Mathematics Number Sense, Algebra & Functions – Selected topics from categories 1-9 – see Governor’s Cup Math Content

Course 2

  • Arts & Humanities Musical Theater, Opera/Operettas
  • Language Arts Ancient Greek and Roman Literature
  • Science Physics: Energy, Work, Thermodynamics, Mechanics
  • Social Studies World History — Renaissance to 1800
  • Mathematics Geometry & Trigonometry – Selected topics from categories 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, & 15 –  – see Governor’s Cup Math Content

Course 3

  • Arts & Humanities Philosophy, Contemporary Art
  • Language Arts Drama since 1900: Emphasis on British and American
  • Science Biology: Cells and Botany
  • Social Studies Major Documents, Acts, and Treaties since 1750
